Tamron announced a new lens in its lineup today, made for Sony’s E-mount line of mirrorless cameras, which include newly released A7III and other full frame models as well as a range of APS-C cameras. When used on a crop body, the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III RXD will provide a 42-112.5mm equivalent focal length range.
The lens features almost completely silent autofocus for stills and video, along with full-time manual focus override (which is not a typical feature on most mirrorless lenses). Also, it features and a minimum focusing distance of 7.5″ and a moisture-resistant construction. Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 is set to be released on May 24.
