Sony just announced a brand new mirrorless camera that is essentially an upgrade to the A6300. It features a 24.2MP APS-C Exmor image sensor and latest-generation BIONZ X image processor, which allows for even better Eye-AF as well as real-time object tracking. Sony A6400 features a fully tiltable 3-inch LCD touch screen with 921k-dots of resolution, which will most likely make it the best-selling mirrorless camera among vloggers in 2019.
The A6400 is also the first Sony mirrorless camera that can shoot time-lapse videos without the need for additional equipment or apps. Unlike the A6500, the new camera unfortunately doesn’t come with 5-axis in-body image stabilization. The new camera still shoots 4K video at up to 30fps as well as 1080p video at up to 120fps, however, it now features HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) picture profile for an instant HDR workflow.
Sony A6400 will start shipping in February 2019 with a retail price of $900 in the United States. It will be offered with a kit lens (16-50mm F3.5-F5.6) as well, for a suggested retail price of $1,000 or $1,300 when paired with 18-135mm F3.5 – 5.6 kit lens .
