Sigma’s new 85mm f/1.4 Art mirrorless lens weighs just 630 grams or 1.39 pounds, which is quite impressive and nearly half the weight of the DSLR version! The lens supports 77mm screw-in filters and has a de-clickable iris ring, which is definitely a feature videographers love to see. The new Sigma lens has a close focus distance of 85cm or 33.5 inches, which is about standard for this focal range. Here are some additional features:
- Aperture Range: f/1.4 to f/16
- Five SLD Elements
- One Aspherical Element, Four HR Elements
- Stepping Motor AF System
- Customizable AFL Button
- Physical Aperture Ring; De-Click Switch
- Rounded 11-Blade Diaphragm
- Weather-Sealed Design
As you’d expect from a lens designed primarily for portrait photography, this lens delivers smooth and rich bokeh thanks to its bright f/1.4 aperture. The Sigma 85mm F1.4 DG DN will retail for $1,199 and is already available to pre-order.
