Panasonic has finally unveiled full specs of its Leica DG Vario-Summilux 10-25mm f/1.7 lens. The development of this lens was announced in September of last year during Photokina and will start shipping during the summer.
Panasonic’s newest lens takes the title of the world’s fastest constant-aperture wide-angle zoom and is made for their line of micro 4/3 cameras. It covers 20-50mm range in 35m-equivalent terms. This, along with the fact that the maximum aperture is f/1.7, makes this an extremely versatile lens.
Leica DG Vario-Summilux 10-25mm f/1.7 has a minimum focusing distance of 28cm and offers maximum magnification of 0.28x. It also features nine diaphragm blades, which results in beautifully round bokeh. The lens is dust and splash resistant. It weighs 690 grams and accepts 77mm filter threads.
Panasonic’s latest micro 4/3 lens is going to retail for $1,799 and will start shipping in July.
