Along with the announcement of EOS R5 development, Canon has today unveiled its brand new RF lens – the 24-105mm f/4-7.1.
The new lens is priced at $399 and this makes it the most affordable RF lens at the moment, as Canon was focused on releasing high-quality (but expensive) lenses first until now.
The RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 is very compact. It is about 3.5 inches (88.8mm) long and is very lightweight at only 13.9 oz (395 grams), making it excellent for travel photography. It also pairs perfectly with a lightweight camera like the EOS RP.
The lens features smooth and silent autofocus thanks to a stepping motor. Its image stabilization is rated at up to 5 stops, which will definitely help out with handheld shooting.
Canon didn’t mention a release date for this lens, but they did mention it will also be sold as a kit option with the EOS R and RP.
