Best Mic for Fuji X-T30

While not as amazing as its bigger brother (X-T3), Fujifilm X-T30 is actually a pretty capable video camera for its price. It shoots sharp 4K video at up to 30 fps, and can do slow motion 1080p video in 120 fps. Autofocus is pretty good as well, which makes this camera great for different types of video shooting. However, in order to have a professional looking video, your audio should be on point as well.  This is why we think getting an external microphone for your Fuji X-T30 is a great idea.

Best Microphone for Fuji X-T30

We are going to list four of the best mics for Fuji X-T30 (in our opinion) below, and they are going to be sorted by price from most to least expensive. Since the X-T30 is a very small camera, our suggestion would be to grab one of the last two mics on the list, unless top-notch quality is your primary concern. If that’s the case, grab one of the first two mics on the list. We’d also like to add that the X-T30 has a 2.5mm microphone jack, meaning that you’ll need a 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter to get these mics to work.

Rode VideoMic Pro+

Out of all the microphones on this list, this one definitely has the most features. It is also the latest mic in Rode’s lineup and presents an update to the popular VideoMic Pro (without the plus sign). The VideoMic Pro+ sounds great and although it has a bit more pronounced low-end compared to most other mics, some people actually prefer this, but it depends on your taste. It also has an auto on/off function that saves battery life, built-in rechargeable battery, and multiple buttons on the back of the mic for easy control.

Deity V-Mic D3 Pro

Although Deity mics are relatively new to the market, it didn’t take them long to gain a reputation for being quite good, reliable and affordable. The V-Mic D3 Pro sounds great and offers more balanced audio compared to VideoMic Pro+. Although it doesn’t have identical features, the V-Mic D3 Pro also has a rechargeable battery and a useful gain knob on the back of the microphone. We should also mention that this mic is about $100 cheaper than VideoMic Pro+, and we believe it offers a lot of value for its price.

Deity V-Mic D3

If you don’t need additional features of the Pro version like the gain knob and rechargeable battery, this is definitely the right mic for your, and quite possibly the best microphone for Fuji X-T30. It is quite lightweight and is powered by a single AAA battery that will last very long. Sound quality is comparable to the Pro version, although not identical. If you don’t have a big budget and want a pretty great mic, this is probably the one to get.

Rode VideoMicro

The VideoMicro is a great external mic for X-T30, for people who need the absolute smallest microphone that will still deliver acceptable quality. Of course, don’t expect the sound quality to be on the level of previously mentioned microphones, but this is still a great little microphone. Unlike other mics on this list, this one doesn’t require batteries as it’s powered by the camera itself.
